Monrovia, Liberia — On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, an essay contest for Liberian youth was launched targeting the 18-25 age group. The theme of the essay contest is “Youth and Sustainable Development,” giving young Liberians the opportunity to voice their ideas and vision for Liberia’s development, according to a press release statement.
The first, second and third winners will receive cash prizes (in USD) of $750.00, $500 and $250.00 respectively, including an internship with the World Bank Group.
According to The World Bank Group, essay submissions must express original visions or ideas for fighting poverty and boosting development in Liberia and should not exceed four pages. They must also be formatted in Times New Roman, 12- font, 1.5 line spacing, and an A4 page dimensions with default margins.
Other requirements include: a summary (maximum of 250 words); curriculum vitae of participant with email address, telephone number, city of residence, and a photocopy of an official identification card or document.
Deadline for submissions is December 6, 2015 to the World Bank Liberia Country Office, German Embassy Compound, Tubman Boulevard, Monrovia, with the mention: “Application to the World Bank Essay Competition” in the upper left hand corner of the envelope.
