PHOTOS: Liberian Brand Tekay Designs At African Fashion Week Houston 2015

Kimma Wreh of Tekay Designs  showcased a beautiful collection to a full audience at African Fashion Week Houston 2015 in August. The designer featured pieces from her Tekay Designs collections (African and ethnic collections of semi formal, evening and bridal attire for men and women) and her “Queen of Brides” series (couture wedding gowns).  The show also featured disabled fashion model Deborah Grayson Carpenter who was recently named as an ambassador for the brand.

Kimma Wreh was born and raised in Liberia  and traveled to the US in 1988 after political unrest spurred the transition to the United States. Kimma immediately pursued her educational goals receiving a Bachelors Degree from Howard University in Washington D.C. After completing her MBA, Kimma embraced her American dream when she founded TeKay Designs in 1998 with her sister.
